Model 30-6

Extended Reach microR Survey Meter

Part Number: 48-4195

Features

  • Rugged, Low-Weight microR Survey System
  • Multi-Function Pole-Mounted Digital Display
  • Very Sensitive Plastic Scintillator Gamma Detector
  • Large Backlit Display with Ambient Light Sensor
  • Ball-Mounted Display Unit with Adjustable Viewing Angle
  • Adjustable Pole Length and Handle Position

The Model 30-6 is a highly sensitive gamma µR/meter with extended reach capability designed around the versatile and lightweight Model 30 digital survey meter. It incorporates a very sensitive 15.2 x 2.5 cm (6 x 1 in.) plastic scintillator detector mounted at the end of a long pole to facilitate reaching elevated areas. The pole length is adjustable from 111 to 161 cm (43.6 to 63.4 in.), with 11 different length settings.

The digital meter features a large, easily-readable LCD (liquid crystal display) and can be rotated to maximize ease of use. Three modes of operation are available: RATE, MAX, and COUNT. Measurements can be collected in two sets of units (primary and secondary) for RATE and MAX modes in µR/hr or µSv/h units. The user can switch between two sets of chosen units by pressing the Units button. The display meter body is constructed of lightweight, durable, high-impact plastic. Splash-resistant construction allows the instrument to be used in outdoor environments. Other features include an audio warning tone and an easy, intuitive, user-friendly design.

An internal switch is used to enable or disable the front-panel setup feature to protect desired settings from inadvertent modification. Setup is also available via software from Ludlum Measurements.
