The Model 2242 is a gamma exposure digital ratemeter equipped with two internally-housed, energy-compensated GM detectors that measure over the range of 0.1 mR/hr to 999.9 R/hr. The backlit LCD presents a four-digit measurement value along with units that can be set up for R, Sv, or Counts, and includes icons for alarms and operational status.
The cast aluminum instrument housing with its separate battery compartment and accompanying metal handle offer an industrial robustness and quality that promote long-lasting protection and instrument life. The front-panel controls include a rotary switch for selecting between the mR/hr and R/hr ranges and instrument shut-off, an audio on/off switch, a fast/slow response switch, and a count reset push-button. Any alert or alarm setpoints exceeded will activate the audio and indicating lamp. The reset button is also used to acknowledge alarms. This instrument is a complete turn-key system including the two "D"cell batteries.
