Energy Compensation Filters

FilterNewsPng

As any Health Physicist can tell you, the venerable GM pancake detector has a significant over-response at lower energies that produce false exposure and dose readings.  To correct this situation, Ludlum has designed two energy compensation filters for its Model 44-9 GM Pancake probe that enable more accurate exposure and ambient equivalent dose measurements.  The filters flatten the energy response to within 20% across an energy range of 33 keV to 1.2 MeV for exposure and 20 keV to 1.2 MeV for ambient equivalent dose.

The filters simply snap into place across the detector face when making an exposure or dose type measurement and can be removed just as easily when returning to measuring for contamination.  Each filter can be purchased separately or with a new Model 44-9 probe.
